So what is driving this growth? Anna Ibbotson, an industry manager of chemicals and materials at the global consultancy Kline & Company says that as many people lose their jobs, or finding themselves without health insurance, they are turning to liquid vitamins and powder supplements to keep them healthy and out of the hospital. So instead of an apple a day, the new fashion trend has become multivitamins and protein drinks.

But here’s the big question: How can you cash in on this market?

            
It’s actually a lot easier than you think. A simple search through Google will bring up literally hundreds of companies offering bulk packages of vitamins and nutraceutical supplements. Of course, many of the vitamins are only cheap enough to sell if you buy twenty or thirty cases, but let’s face it, who wants to store that many boxes in their garage? The best thing to do is to find one or two other people that are willing to go in on the project with you so that you can get a case or two, and not worry about relocating your spouse’s car (or marriage) to make room for your new economic venture.

Next you have to advertise. When you start out, you won’t have a lot of money to advertise with, so beginning vitamin sellers usually use word of mouth. It sounds silly trying to sell vitamins to your friends or neighbors, but vitamins are pretty expensive at a store and if you have 300 vitamins for five dollars and the store down the street has them for $20 guess who is getting the business?

Eventually, as you get better at networking and selling, you’ll find your business growing, and before you know it you’ll earn more and more extra cash to pay off credit cards, car bills, and more.

And nowadays with many blogging websites offering free services, you can set up your own website to sell your product off of right on the internet, without ever leaving your home!

Some vitamin companies will also offer wholesale buyers the option of purchasing what amounts to a virtual franchise on the Internet with a space on their website. Tapping into this option can be useful in networking nationally (and sometimes even internationally!).

However, the biggest, and best advantage to selling vitamins is that the business is on your own time. This is a big relief for single parents, individuals with little time for a second job, or people that just want a flexible schedule.

It’s strange but who knew that those good ol’ edible Fred and Barney Flintstone Chewables could be the key to financial independence, or that Vitamin-C could cure your credit card ills?

Today, press releases by Oprah & Dr OZ’s companies state that Oprah and Dr Oz have launched over 50 lawsuits against companies promoting products using video clips from the Oprah show to suggest that these huge celebrities are endorsing the brands using this tactic.

As in one other blog entry I made, a company called FWM Laboratories of Hollywood, Fla, leads the flock of companies likely involved in the lawsuit. The lawsuit states that these companies had gravely injured these powerful celebrities’s reputations because of the consumer fury that has resulted from these misleading marketing tactics – typically for the free trial supplements. Resveratrol is but one supplement that these aggressive online marketers have leveraged. They have also used similar video footage for other products such as colon cleansing, teeth whitening, cellulite and anti-wrinkle creams.

You can expect the once rapant surge of adsense ads flooding the marketplace to come to a dead stop because of this breaking news. This will be a welcome reprieve for the legitimate manufacturers of resveratrol supplements that have a lot of science and lab testing behind their products and don’t use the resveratrol free trial method. They have complained how this rash of unscrupulous vendors has dampened the market trust of consumers buying quality resveratrol products.

The end result will be beneficial for the resveratrol marketplace because there is so much ongoing resveratrol studies that interest and awareness will continue to grow in the long run, so ethical companies with good products will begin to thrive again.”

Red Wine - For years, we’ve heard about all the wonderful health benefits of drinking wine, specifically red wine, but only recently have we been able to attribute these benefits to Resveratrol. The average glass of red wine contains between 750 micrograms and 1 milligram of active Resveratrol. Red Wine is a great source for Resveratrol since it is the most abundant liquid source currently available. When a person drinks a glass of red wine, they usually consume it over many smaller sips. Gram for gram, cocoa powder had the highest average amount of Resveratrol, followed by baking chocolates, dark chocolates, semi-sweet chips, milk chocolate and lastly, our favorite — chocolate syrup. The study found that cocoa powder, baking chocolate and dark chocolate contained on average 14 micrograms to 19 micrograms of resveratrol per serving.

Blueberries / Cranberries – Blueberries and cranberries contain about 10% of the Resveratrol of grapes. The total amount of resveratrol contained in each varies greatly by region, climate, and variety of berry. Since the Resveratrol content of these berries is so low, they’re rarely used as a source for Resveratrol supplementation. They are however a great source for many other antioxidants and phytonutrients and provide a wide array of benefits.
